Frozen Table Columns
March 12, 2026
Overview
You can now freeze columns on the left side of your data tables so they stay visible while you scroll horizontally. This makes it easy to keep important reference columns -- like product names or order IDs -- always in view, even on tables with many columns.
What's New
Freeze and Unfreeze Columns
- Freeze Button: Appears on the left edge of the first scrollable column header -- click it to freeze that column
- Unfreeze Button: Appears on the last frozen column header -- click it to release the column back to the scrollable area
- Multiple Columns: Freeze as many columns as you need by clicking the freeze button repeatedly
Seamless Scrolling
- Frozen columns stay fixed on the left while you scroll the rest of the table horizontally
- Row heights automatically stay aligned between frozen and scrollable sections
- All table features (checkboxes, tooltips, popovers, inline editing) work in both frozen and scrollable columns
Saved Preferences
- Your frozen column choices are saved automatically per table view
- Settings persist when you return to the page, reload, or apply filters
How to Use
- Navigate to any data table using the Advanced Table format (Products, Orders, Refunds, etc.)
- Hover over the first column header -- you'll see a small freeze button on its left edge
- Click it to freeze that column in place
- Scroll horizontally and notice the frozen column stays visible
- To unfreeze, click the unfreeze button that appears on the last frozen column header
Benefits
- Never lose context: Keep key identifiers visible while browsing wide tables
- Flexible setup: Freeze one column or several -- it's up to you
- Works with resizing: Frozen columns can still be resized using the existing resize handle
- Automatic saving: Your layout preferences are remembered across sessions
Impact
- Available on all data tables using the Advanced Table format
- No columns are frozen by default -- your existing table layouts remain unchanged
- Works alongside existing column resizing and table view features
