Cost of Goods -- Dedicated Screen
July 6, 2026
Overview
Managing your product costs now has a home of its own. The new Cost of Goods screen, under the Products menu, brings every product's cost inputs -- COGS, shipping, and miscellaneous costs -- together in one place, with at-a-glance alerts that tell you exactly which products need your attention. No more digging through the product list to spot missing or expiring costs.
What's New
A Dedicated Cost of Goods Grid
A single table lists all your products alongside the numbers that drive your profit calculations:
- Product -- image, SKU, ASIN, and internal name
- COGS, Shipping Cost, and Miscellaneous Costs -- each shown in that product's own marketplace currency
- Currency -- the marketplace currency the costs are recorded in
- Current Cost Period -- the date range your active cost applies to (∞ shown for open-ended periods)
- Expires -- when the latest cost period ends, or an Ongoing badge for costs with no end date
- COGS Alert -- a colour-coded flag showing each product's cost health
COGS Alerts at a Glance
Every product is automatically tagged so you know where to act:
- 🔴 No COGS -- no usable cost is set for today
- 🟠 Period Ended -- the cost period has lapsed and needs a fresh entry
- 🔵 Ending Soon -- the current cost period expires within 7 days
- 🟢 OK -- a valid cost is in place
You can filter the grid by alert status to jump straight to the products that need work, and sort by the Expires column to see what lapses next.
Summary Tiles
Four summary cards sit above the grid so you can gauge the state of your cost data instantly:
- COGS Coverage -- the percentage of products that have a valid cost, with a progress bar
- Needs Attention -- how many products are missing costs or have ended periods, plus those ending soon
- Avg Cost Inputs -- your average landed cost and COGS per unit, and how many products have shipping and misc costs set
- Imports & Exports -- when your last cost import ran, its status, and recent import activity
Inline Editing and Familiar Tools
- Click any COGS value to open the same cost-entry window you already use on the product list -- nothing new to learn.
- Edit Shipping Cost and Miscellaneous Costs directly in the row, and the changes save in that product's correct currency.
- Use the Import/Export button to bulk import or export your COGS and product settings, or export the current view to a spreadsheet.
How to Use
- Open Products → Cost of Goods from the left menu.
- Review the summary tiles at the top to see your overall coverage and what needs attention.
- Use the COGS Alert filter to narrow the grid to products that are missing costs or expiring soon.
- Click a COGS value to add or update a product's cost, or edit shipping and misc costs inline.
- Use the Import/Export button to bulk update costs or download the current view.
Benefits
- See gaps instantly -- coverage and alert tiles surface products without costs before they skew your profit numbers.
- Act where it matters -- filter and sort straight to missing or expiring costs instead of scanning the whole catalogue.
- Accurate multi-marketplace costs -- every value is shown and saved in the product's own marketplace currency.
- One place for cost work -- view, edit, import, and export product costs without leaving the screen.
Impact
- This is a brand-new screen; nothing about your existing product list or cost data changes.
- All costs continue to use the same cost-entry window and rules you already rely on.
- No action is required -- the screen simply reflects the cost data you already have and highlights what's incomplete.
