Edit Product – Inventory Settings Tab ​

  1. Go to Products and Inventory → Products List
  2. Find the product and click the Actions (⋮) icon
  3. Select Edit Product
  4. The inventory settings are split into three sections: Reorder Calculation Settings, Crate Settings, and Stock Out Notification Settings

Overview ​

These settings govern the restocking of a specific product, drive the calculation of the estimated out-of-stock date and recommended reorder quantities, and control when you are notified of a future stock-out condition.

Tips ​

  • There are two levels of inventory settings: global (default) and product-level (this screen)
  • If no settings are entered at the product level, the Default Inventory Settings will apply
  • If any product-level setting is non-zero, it overrides the default settings for that product
  • If any product-level setting is set to zero, the default settings still prevail for that field

Reorder Calculation Settings ​

Restock Lead Time ​

The number of days required from when you place the order with your supplier until the product is available on Amazon's warehouse shelves, ready to be fulfilled.

Alert Days ​

Defines when you will be alerted about an approaching out-of-stock condition. Alerts are sent via the dashboard widget, SellerLegend Notifications Channel, email, or SMS, depending on your Notification Settings.

For example, if set to 60, notifications trigger only when the out-of-stock date is 60 days or less away.

Alert Units ​

Defines when you will be alerted based on remaining stock units.

For example, if set to 60, notifications trigger only when remaining stock is 60 units or less.

Days Of Cover ​

Based on the default or chosen sales velocity, dictates how many units to order so there is enough stock for the specified number of days.

For example, if set to 100, SellerLegend calculates how many units to order so you need not reorder for the next 100 days after the shipment is received.

Safety Days ​

Additional days to extend the standard Restock Lead Time. Use when market conditions are unusual (e.g., Chinese New Year, natural disasters, extended holidays in the manufacturing country).

TIP

Rather than overriding the Restock Lead Time during exceptional periods and forgetting the original value, enter additional days here. Remove the value when conditions return to normal.

Minimum Order Quantity ​

The minimum number of units your supplier requires to accept an order. SellerLegend will not suggest a reorder quantity below your MOQ, even when calculations indicate a smaller quantity would satisfy your Days Of Cover rule.

In Transit ​

Units you know are in transit (e.g., midway between your supplier and destination). This is not for quantities inbound to Amazon — SellerLegend already accounts for those.

In Transit quantities are added to Fulfillable and Inbound quantities when calculating out-of-stock dates and reorder recommendations. You manually update this field — SellerLegend does not automatically adjust it.

In Warehouse ​

Units in a local, non-Amazon warehouse. Same logic as In Transit — not for Amazon inbound quantities.

Both In Transit and In Warehouse let you document the whereabouts of non-Amazon inventory. They are interchangeable for calculation purposes.

Crate Settings ​

Crate Quantity ​

The number of units in a crate. Used with Minimum Order Quantity and Crate Behaviour to determine the recommended reorder quantity.

If the calculated reorder quantity divided by the crate quantity yields a decimal, SellerLegend rounds up or down (based on Crate Behaviour) to the nearest multiple of the crate quantity.

Crate Behaviour ​

Determines whether the Recommended Reorder Quantity is rounded up or down to an exact multiple of the Crate Quantity.

Stock Out Notification Settings ​

Notify Stockout ​

When enabled, an alert is added to the Dashboard's Upcoming Restocks widget whenever the inventory divided by the sales velocity yields fewer days than the number specified in Alert Days.
